About Us

As a Regional Seed company in the Red River Valley, we understand your farm’s seed needs.

Quality is something we have always taken pride in at Adams Seed. For all seed to meet our high standards, we test each lot extensively for germ, vigor, and quality. Our customers deserve nothing less!

Our History

The Adams Seed name has a proud history in agribusiness, dating back to the 1950s when Merwin and Alan Adams began selling and cleaning flax, oats, wheat and barley varieties. Our number of customers grew as cattle numbers fell and crop farms in the area grew larger. The operation quickly grew into a 24-hour-a-day business in order to meet the growing demand.

In the early years, all certified seed was required to be sold in bags which could weigh as much as 120 pounds. During the first 5 years of business, over 80,000 bags of seed were hand-stacked into the warehouse and again by hand onto outgoing trucks, all without the aid of a forklift.

Years—and several forklifts—later, many expansions were added for increased speed and capacity. Larger seed mills, larger seed treating facilities, extensive technology and over 350,000 bushels of capacity have been added to better serve our customers.

Whether we fill your truck with the push of a button or throw a bag of seed over our shoulder the old-fashioned way, our commitment to service remains the same. Our integrity, honesty and values in the seed industry are second to none. We guarantee it
